My friend Beth invited a few girls to her Uncle's lake house this past weekend. We all had such a great time. We enjoyed long mornings in our pyjamas, shopping and eating in a Morgan Freeman restaurant. I am so blessed to have such great friends. They even forgave me when I sleep walked and talked in my sleep!!!

Aaron took his first steps about 3 weeks ago and here is a taste of his first attempts wobbling over the floor. Sorry I am so late uploading these clips, we've had quite an interesting September to say the least. I got the swine flu the beginning of the month followed by a miscarriage. During this time Aaron started walking and it's been a great joy seeing him exploring a new world. We're hoping that October will be a much more pleasant month. Prayers are appreciated.

I'm so behind with my blogging. Life is full to say the least and my computer has not wanted to cooperate. Our PC is on it's last leg and our Mac is moving in slow motion (because I dropped it coming down the stairs). Oh well, lots have happened and I'm to lazy to tell you every detail. Aaron has another ear infection. It's his second one after getting tubes. We've thought of getting him a summer job to pay off his medical expenses, but there's not a whole lot he can do as a 9 month old. He's still content sitting around on his fluffy rear moving his arms and hands like a conductor.

So we've recovered from yesterday's surgery and projectile vomit and today is a new day. We got to go outside and enjoy the warm weather.

Aaron got tubes today

Aaron got tubes put in his ears this morning. We barely had time for a bathroom break before the procedure was over. Aaron woke up from his anesthesia a bit delirious, but soon felt all normal. He recovered quite quickly. However, when we walked in through the door back home, Olivia projectile vomited and has been sick the rest of the day. We have found that our kids take turns getting sick. Somehow they must be having secret meetings discussing who will take on the next " disease." It never gets boring in our household and there is not much time to catch up on rest for mom and dad.

Aaron has been to the doctor 6 times this month and been on 4 different antibiotics treating his ear infections. So far none of them have worked so we've scheduled to get tubes in his ears next week.Aaron has mostly had a somber look to his existence lately, but there are moments of great joy.

This is what happens when I leave the room for just a second. Olivia decided to change Aaron's diaper all by herself and she even told me to stay out of her way. Wow, I wish she could do this all the time. I wouldn't mind taking a break from diaper changing for a while. Oh well, that's just wishful thinking.

Family and friends keep telling me that I need to post more of the craziness that is going on in our household. These days I don't have any privacy while I sit on the toilet. Olivia often tells me to go potty, just as often as I tell her to go potty. So here we were, Olivia and I in the bathroom, I was sitting on the toilet giving away a loud sigh. Olivia asks me "what's wrong?" For a split second I thought what do I tell a 2 year old my issues are, but then I heard myself saying "Oh, mommy is just waiting for her period." Then just matter of fact, Olivia says "Oh, let me go and find it" and she walks off trying to find my period. I will have to explain what a period is in about 10 years. Oh, the many joys of parenthood.

Snon har kommit till Memphis!!! The snow came this year too, and we have to run out and catch the moment before it all melts away. All the schools are closed down and life shuts down for a split second. As a sweede, it sounds absolutely absurd, but it's true. I've been stuck in the house with sick kids the past couple of days, but I couldn't resist taking Olivia out this morning to explore the beautiful snow.

In the last few days Olivia has had diarrhea. Now, at first I would get so frustrated that she wouldn't go in the toilet and that my whole potty training was going down the drain. Then she started vomiting, and I thought, does she have the stomach flu? This morning I took her to the doctor and we found out she had strep throat. Can you believe it!!??? I have no idea how strep throat is related to vomiting and diarrhea, but it sure can be according to our Doctor. So hear I am feeding her milkshake and cleaning up diarrhea, and feel awful that I've been upset that she's not been able to go in the potty, like she normally does.

Happy New year to you all out there. Life is pretty slow these days. We left Olivia with Nonna and Papa up in Columbia right after Christmas. This is the longest I've been away from Olivia. It's been 5 days and still two to go. I miss her so much!!! She brings so much life to our daily life and this week has been so quiet without her. I know she's having a blast with her Nonna and Papa. By the way, one kid is nothing compare to two. I don't know why I ever complained about having one. Aaron is the sweetest little boy. Last night Aaron spent the night with Mumsey (Jan)while Will and I rang in the New Year with my old professor Larry and a 100 other friends to the professor. We had alot of fun and we got to sleep in, thanks to Jan.

In Sweden our big Christmas day is Christmas Eve. And as I am writing, my family in Sweden are eating their big Christmas Lunch and in a few minutes they will be watching the Disney Christmas television show that has been shown in Sweden in over 30 years. I decided to let Olivia open some of the gifts that my parents had sent from Sweden. She absolutely loved the dress and the book. "Tack kara mor och far." I can't believe it's been 7 years since I was home for Christmas. Well, I shouldn't complain, my aunt Gittan, hasn't been home for a Swedish Christmas in 30 years. I hope it won't be that long till I get to go home. Tonight we will be going over to Gittan's and celebrate with family and friends and tomorrow we will go to Nonna and Papa. Olivia is very excited to see Nonna and Papa. This morning Mumsey will come over for a little Christmas celebration. We are looking forward to that too. Have a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year. My friend Beth captured a sweet moment as we were taking some family photos a couple weeks ago. So much of my stress level these days have been Olivia. She has a will like no other and most days I have moments of panic. The other day I was cleaning up another poopy butt as she decided to jump off the toilet into my arms. I kept putting her back on the toilet, but she thought it was so funny to keep jumping into my arms. I finally had to leave the bathroom and close myself in another room just to breathe. She came running after me ( still with poop all over her butt) asking me "what's wrong Mommy?" She didn't know that I was about to have a nervous breakdown, if she was going to jump off that toilet once more. Everyday I have to chase her down to get her clothes on and it's almost impossible to keep a ribbon in her hair. The other day Will said she looks like a Bohemian. Do I take that as a complement or should I be offended, I don't know??? All I can say is that my daughter is helping me in my sanctifying process.

We celebrated our 8th annual Lucia performance in our home in Memphis. Will wanted to be the Lucia so bad this year, but we didn't think he had enough hair to really pull it off. So we had my friend Elin as the Lucia. She is about to have a baby any time now and had to sit on a chair during the performance. There were between 40-50 people who came to see this spectacular performance. Somehow we all managed to squeeze in!! We had a great night.

We've been waiting so long for this bundle of joy to arrive. Cousin Elias David Woodhouse arrived Sunday morning in Sweden. If you have no clue what I'm talking about. My brother Emanuel and his wife, Heidi, just had their first baby boy. The cousins in Memphis are eager to see pictures.

The other day I got Olivia up from a nap and I thought we would have some music time. She was not in a good mood and didn't want to sing even as I tried to sing her favorite songs. She certainly has a strong will (to say the least). Hopefully next time you can hear her sing her own version of "Jesus loves me." It is somehow hard for her to say "loves" so it becomes "rubbes."

What would I do without my in-laws?? They are so generous with their time and support. With no hesitation they came to Memphis to watch Olivia and Aaron and let Will and I have some vacation. I got a few shots of Nonna, Papa and Aaron right before we left for Mississippi. Aaron had the biggest grin on his face and I was able to get a good shot.

Will and I got to spend our first weekend together without the kids. Nonna and Papa came to Memphis and watched Olivia and Aaron and we got to go to a lake house in Mississippi for a couple of days. It was so wonderful and refreshing in every kind of way. You sort of forget how life is without kids. "Thank you Beth for suggesting the lake house."

We went to a coffeeshop in Collierville to listen to Mickie and her friends Saturday night. She seems to have a gig almost every night these days. It's getting quite fun to see her in this role as a musician in Memphis. She is now known as "Mickie the Sweede."

It is November and we can go outside in short sleeves. Now, that is foreign to a Sweede. I just talked to my parents and they said they have got their first snow in Sweden. Will and I and the kids went for a little stroll in the park. Olivia is so full of life and isn't scared of anything. She climbs up slides and loves to do pretty risky things. She must have got that from her dad.
